Smith, Warner stood down as Australia captain, vice-captain

Steve Smith and David Warner have been stood down as Australia's captain and vice-captain for the remainder of the ongoing third Test match against South Africa in Cape Town, in the wake of the former's confession to premeditated ball-tampering late on the Saturday (March 24) evening.

Tim Paine, the wicketkeeper-batsman, will take over the mantle of captaining the side, Cricket Australia said in a media release ahead of fourth day's play.
